Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City Predictions

After beginning their season with a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United, Spurs have picked themselves up and haven’t lost in the Premier League since, despite not performing to the best of their abilities.

It took them a while to find victory though. They drew the three games after the defeat to Man United, but then struggled through to beat Sunderland and Crystal Palace either side of a Europa League victory over Qarabag.

But their six match unbeaten streak in all competitions came to an end on Wednesday as they lost 2-1 to North London rivals Arsenal in the League Cup.

This was bound to come at some point. They haven’t been performing well at all, and the only glimmer of hope for Spurs is the emergence of new signing Son Heung-Min, who scored the winner against Palace.

This all leaves them in 9th position in the Premier League with nine points from their opening six games.

They are still missing Ryan Mason, Moussa Dembele, and Nabil Bentaleb for this match. Manchester City are expected to be without Vincent Kompany again, whilst Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, and Fabian Delph are all still sidelined.

Despite this mini injury crisis, they are still at the top of the Premier League. However, Manchester United have narrowed the gulf between them after City relinquished their 100% record last weekend.

West Ham came racing out of the blocks, opening the scoring within the first ten minutes and adding a second before half time. Kevin De Bruyne pulled one back just before the break, but they couldn’t get another and fell to their second defeat in a week.

They managed to get back on the horse in midweek though, beating Sunderland 4-1 in the Capital One Cup thanks to an excellent performance from De Bruyne.

Manchester City have won all of the last four meetings between the sides, and I expect them to make it five in a row on Saturday. Odds of 10/11 for a Man City win look very good value as well, along with a 2-0 correct score prediction at 10/1.
