    Tip Reasoning

Tottenham’s excellent unbeaten streak in the Premier League came to an end in their last clash when they visited the out of form Liverpool and came away licking their wounds after a 2-0 defeat. This ended a run of nine league games without a defeat, seven of which have resulted in three points for Spurs.

This saw them pushed down to 3rd in the Premier League, and they are now two points adrift of Manchester City in 2nd and ten points behind leaders Chelsea. Perhaps the more pressing issue is the fact they are only a point inside the top four though and both Liverpool and Manchester United are pushing hard for Champions League football. They really need to bounce back quickly to retain their spot in the top four.

At home Tottenham look excellent though. They are unbeaten there this season in the Premier League and have won ten of their 12 games. Eight of these 12 games have seen them keep a clean sheet, whilst they have scored a total of 26 goals at the other end. The majority of those have come since November as well, with 20 goals in their last seven home matches.

Stoke are having a pretty decent season themselves to be fair. They beat Crystal Palace in their last match to put themselves 9th in the Premier League. They are some five points adrift of West Brom in 8th though, but they will want to fend off challenges from West Ham and Southampton for a top half finish.

They were in a better position until their recent spate of poor form though. They have only won three of their last 11 outings in the Premier League and have lost four times. These defeats all came away from home, and whilst it has been a difficult run of fixtures, their comprehensive defeats at the hands of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea show that they can’t pick their game up against top quality opposition.

Tottenham can certainly be classed as top quality opposition, and with The Potters losing four of their last five on the road and conceding 13 goals in the process not many will be expecting a result for them on Sunday.

Harry Kane is looking in fantastic form at the moment and has scored nine of his 14 league goals this season at White Hart Lane, averaging almost one per game. This makes even the short looking odds of 4/6 for him to score anytime look good value for our goalscorer predictions.

Spurs, aided by Kane, have won four of their last six home games by at least a two goal margin, whilst Stoke have lost three of their last five on the road by more than a single goal. They have also lost all of their matches against the top five this season by more than one goal, so odds of 2.075 for a Tottenham -1.5 Asian Handicap win look good value for money. I’m going for a 3-1 correct score predictions at 12/1.
