Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Tunisia have to throw men forward as only a win will do and as France have conceded in seven of their last eight games we’re expecting both teams to score in this Group D contest.

France 3-1

Reason for tip

France coach Didier Deschamps will almost certainly make changes but the defending champions should have the quality to pick off Tunisia on the counter and a 3-1 win for Les Bleus appeals.

Kingsley Coman To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Kingsley Coman managed two goals in seven qualifiers and could well come into the starting XI for what is essentially a dead-rubber for France. If he is handed a chance from the off, back Coman to grab a goal.

Tunisia vs France Predictions

  • France have conceded in both of their group games and have just one clean sheet in their last eight games.
  • Tunisia have to win to stand any chance of progress so need to commit bodies forward.
  • France have won both of their games so far.
  • Kingsley Coman scored twice in seven qualifiers and could come into the starting XI for already qualified France.

Mission impossible for Tunisia

Holders France have already secured a place in the last 16 and they complete the group stages with a clash against a Tunisia side who have to win on Wednesday.

The North African nation have just one point to show from their two games so far, and even three points against the French may not be enough to avoid an early exit.

Tunisia are yet to score at the Qatar World Cup but they may be able to end their goal drought against France, who are likely to rotate for what is essentially a dead-rubber tie as far as they are concerned.

Both teams to score offers value

Les Bleus are the heavy favourites to win this game and in all likelihood they will claim maximum points, but as Tunisia are the team in need and boss Didier Deschamps could opt to rotate the short price on a win for France doesn’t have much appeal.

Instead, both teams to score looks a strong option despite the fact Tunisia have drawn
blanks against both Denmark and Australia.

France have conceded in both of their group stages assignments and if Deschamps’ does tinker with his first XI that may well lead to a few opportunities for the Tunisians.

The Eagles of Carthage will be desperate to at least give their fans something to cheer about if they are to depart early. Tunisia scored in five consecutive games prior to the World Cup – including a friendly loss to Brazil – so they are capable of finding a way through, even if they are yet to get off the mark in Qatar.

France can complete perfect opening

France have plenty of quality throughout their squad and even if Deschamps makes wholesale changes they should still be able to finish the first stage with a win.

Tunisia simply have to press forward, and that should allow the French plenty of opportunities on the counter and they can take advantage and a 3-1 win for the defending champions appeals in the correct score market.

One man who could come into the starting side for France is Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and if he is given the nod he looks a reasonable candidate for an anytime goal. Coman has appeared as a substitute in both of France’s games so far and managed two goals in seven qualifiers ahead of the tournament, so if he is handed a rare start he can mark it with a goal.
