Turkey vs Russia Predictions
- Turkey have drawn their last five internationals, including three from four in this season’s UEFA Nations League.
- The host’s have lost just one of their last eight games, but their only win in that spell came away to minnows Andorra.
- Russia are without a win in four internationals, drawing their last three.
- The sides drew 1-1 in Moscow last month.
Spoils Could Be Shared in Istanbul
Neither of these sides’ claims are too compelling ahead of their Nations League clash in Istanbul this Sunday, where we could be set for a similar result to that played out in October’s reverse fixture.
There was little to split the teams throughout their 1-1 stalemate in Moscow, and Turkey have now drawn their last five internationals after a thrilling 3-3 friendly at home to Croatia in midweek.
This Sunday’s hosts are difficult to oppose after losing just one of their last eight internationals, however they’re equally impossible to support as they’ve only beaten lowly Andorra (0-2) amidst that run.
Senol Gunes’ team appear to be lacking focus since clinching qualification for Euro 2020 and the same can also be said of Russia, who are now winless in four after a drab 0-0 away at Moldova on Thursday.
Stanislav Cherchesov’s side were extremely poor in Chisinau and while they sit top of League B-3 going into this fixture, they’ve drawn their last two and could be overtaken by a buoyant Hungary outfit in the coming days.
This game warrants no more than a small punting investment, and a draw looks the most likely outcome. With both teams scoring in Turkey’s last four outings including last month’s reverse contest, we’re also predicting a 1-1 score-line.
