Valencia vs Alaves Predictions
- Valencia have lost only one of their last eight home league games
- Alaves have lost eight of their last ten La Liga away matches
- Four of the last six meetings have gone under 2.5 goals
Valencia can ease further clear of trouble
Neither Valencia nor Alaves are yet to secure La Liga survival, but victory at the Estadio de Mestalla would go a long way to guaranteeing them top-flight football next season.
Two wins in three matches has seen Valencia move five points clear of the relegation places and they are one place and two points above Alaves, who have not aided by a four-game winless run.
Having won 1-0 at home to Osasuna in their last home league fixture, Valencia should be optimistic about following up against an Alaves side that has suffered defeat in eight of their last ten away league games.
Alaves have picked up only eight points from 13 away matches and they were beaten 2-0 at Levante on their last road trip, allowing their opponents 22 shots at goal.
Given the precarious position of both sides and the fact that they played out a goalless draw in October’s reverse fixture, it promises to be a cagey affair.
However, Valencia have lost only one of their last eight home league games and they hold the aces as Alaves boast the third-worst attack in the league, having scored just 23 times in 26 top-flight fixtures.
Four of the last six meetings have gone under 2.5 goals and Valencia can edge to a 1-0 success, with four of their last five victories being accompanied by a clean sheet.
