Verona vs Torino Predictions

  • Over 2.5 goals have been scored in three of Verona’s last four games.
  • Torino have also seen a minimum of three goals scored in three of their last four contests, including a recent 4-4 draw at Atalanta.
  • Verona have scored 34 goals in their 18 home Serie A fixtures this season.
  • The hosts also, however, have the worst defensive record in the top half after shipping 55 Serie A goals this term.

Top-half sides look to end campaign on a high

Ninth faces 10th on the penultimate weekend of the Serie A season, with Torino looking to fend off competition for their top-half spot against a Verona side who sit five points above them in the table. While Verona went down 1-0 to Torino in December’s return fixture, there are plenty of reasons to expect a more absorbing affair when Igor Tudor’s side play their last home game of the campaign.

Verona have seen both teams score in each of their last four games, three of which have contained over 2.5 goals, continuing the theme of their entertaining season. The hosts have the worst defensive record in the top half after conceding 55 goals in 36 league games, but have netted 62 of their own this season, a record bettered only by five of the eight teams above them in Serie A.

Torino, meanwhile, are on a decent run after losing just one of their last seven games, a reverse which came against third-placed Napoli. However, Il Toro’s previously outstanding defensive record has gone out of the window at the end of the campaign, with three of Torino’s last four games seeing over 2.5 goals and a total of 15 goals being scored across those contests.

Three goals look likely in late-season clash

With both teams being involved in a number of high-scoring contests recently and Verona netting 34 goals in their 18 home league games this term, over 2.5 match goals looks an excellent play.

Meanwhile, Torino have taken just 18 of their 47 points on the road this season, while Tudor’s side have won four of their last seven at home, only losing to Milan and Napoli, so a 2-1 home win looks a decent correct score prediction.
