Villarreal vs Malaga Betting Tips and Predictions

Villarreal are just stumbling a little bit with just 1 win in their last 5 matches in all competitions however they still hold a very solid 8 point advantage on 5th place Sevilla and look like strong favourites to claim that 4th Champions League spot as it stands.

Finding the back of the net has been a bit of a problem over the past month and they’ve only mustered 3 goals over those 5 games and 2 of them were against an Espanyol side that has been woeful defensively of late.

They got a solid 0-0 draw at Athletic Bilbao last weekend which was a great result given the Basques are one of the sides trying to chase them but they are unlikely to get any more openings here against a Malaga side that is built around an excellent defence.

Indeed this game sees the sides with the 3rd and 4th best defensive records in the league meet so it is logical to think that defence might come out on top and backing ‘No’ in the ‘Both Teams to Score’ market at 7/10 might be the best way to go here.

Malaga are in good form and have won 6 of their last 9 league matches to move into the top half with their only defeats coming against Barcelona and Sevilla and both were by just 1 goal.

This should be tight too and with Villarreal not quite at their best they may struggle to break through here and backing them to pick up a 3rd 0-0 draw in 5 games looks a good shout at 6/1.
