      MK Dons to Win

      Reason for tip

These two sides are in contrasting form, with Walsall winning just once in 11 matches and MK Dons unbeaten in their last eight league games. The Dons are also the highest away scorers in the division and have lost the joint-fewest road games. They should have too much for their out-of-sort hosts.

      MK Dons 3-1

      Reason for tip

MK Dons have scored two or more goals in eight of their last nine away games across all competitions and put three past Cheltenham in their last road fixture. Walsall lost 3-1 to Barnet in their most recent home match and, without first-choice goalkeeper Myles Roberts, may ship three again.

      Walsall vs MK Dons Predictions

      • Walsall have only won once in 11 matches across all competitions
      • MK Dons are on an eight-match unbeaten run in League Two (W5, D3)
      • No team has lost fewer away games in the fourth tier this season than MK Dons (3)

      Two sides in contrasting form

Walsall and MK Dons are both targeting promotion from League Two over the coming months but they will head into Monday’s clash at the Bescot Stadium in contrasting form.

Mat Sadler’s hosts are without a win in six league games and it is just one victory in 11 across all competitions for the Saddlers since they beat Crewe on Boxing Day, which is also the last time they picked up three points on their own patch.

By contrast, MK Dons are eight unbeaten in the league and have only suffered one defeat – a 1-0 reverse at Colchester on New Year’s Day – in 13 matches, a run that dates back to early December.

Hard to beat Dons to edge to victory

MK Dons have only lost three away matches all season in League Two – the joint fewest in the division – and they have picked up seven points from the last nine available on the road, seeing off Cheltenham and Accrington Stanley either side of a draw with Grimsby.

Paul Warne’s side were also the highest scorers – both overall and on their travels – in the fourth tier heading into this latest round of action and they should be able to outscore a Walsall side missing a key player.

First-choice goalkeeper Myles Roberts was sent off in Walsall’s draw at Grimsby on Wednesday night and his absence makes a tough task appear even more difficult for the Saddlers, who look set to fail to win for the fifth home match in a row.
