West Brom vs Watford Betting Tips & Predictions

Despite their perennial mediocrity, West Brom are actually looking pretty decent at the moment. They have two good strikers in Saido Berahino and Salomon Rondon and they have managed to win three and draw two of their last eight games in all competitions.

Generally, Tony Pulis is just making them very difficult to beat, and the manager is well aware of the limitations of the squad. This has cleared them of relegation trouble with a good amount of time to spare, and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they could break into the top half of the table this season. They are only four points off 10th placed Chelsea at the moment.

West Brom haven’t performed particularly well recently though. Their display in the 2-1 loss to Manchester City wasn’t bad, but a goalless draw with Sunderland and a defeat at home to Norwich prior to that were both very disappointing.

Watford have had their fair share of disappointment recently too. They enjoyed an excellent first half of the season and have managed to knock out FA Cup holders Arsenal out of the competition en-route to their semi final qualification.

However, their foot has been well and truly taken off the pedal in the Premier League. Watford fans were thinking of a potential challenge for Europe not too long ago, but after six winless games and four defeats in their last five they have found themselves down in 15th position.

They are safe from relegation barring a miracle, but it’s a disappointing end to a season which could have been a very impressive return to the top flight.

Away from home Watford have lost five of their last six Premier League matches, and they are coming up against a West Brom side who have only lost one of their last nine home matches and have won four of their last seven league games at the Hawthorns. This makes odds of 13/10 for a West Brom win look very valuable, and I’m backing that along with a 1-0 correct score prediction at 11/2.
