Wolfsburg vs Bayern Munich Betting Tips

Wolfsburg enjoyed an excellent season last year. They may not have been able to dislodge Bayern Munich from the top spot they enjoy so much, but they gave them a good run for their money and finished the season in 2^nd position.

They also made it to the DFP Pokal Final, where they dispatched of Borussia Dortmund in a comfortable 3-1 win to lift a deserved trophy.

Things haven’t gone as well this season, with the departure of key player Kevin De Bruyne hitting them hard.

They lost for the first time when they faced Bayern Munich towards the end of September, with that 5-1 humbling starting them off on a four match winless run.

Three of these games ended in defeat for Wolfsburg, with Manchester United and Borussia Monchengladbach joining Bayern on the list of teams to beat Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg have picked themselves up though and are currently on a three match winning streak after beating Hoffenheim, PSV, and Duisburg.

This is better than Bayern Munich’s current winning streak who’s 2-0 loss to Arsenal saw their perfect start to the season come to an end last week.

They did bounce back with a 4-0 win over Cologne on Saturday though, taking their form record to 13 wins from 14 matches.

Obviously this leaves them at the top of the Bundesliga with a 30 point total, with Wolfsburg’s 18 point haul shrinking in comparison.

Recent history hasn’t all been in Bayern Munich’s favour though. Wolfsburg defeated them in the German Super Cup on penalties in the summer, and they also beat them 4-1 at home in the Bundesliga last season. Bayern Munich have three wins to their name in the last five meetings.

I think Bayern Munich are just too strong at the moment, so I’m expecting a comfortable win for the Bundesliga favourites. Odds of 1.900 for a Bayern Munich -1 Asian Handicap Win are excellent value in my opinion.
