      Reason for tip

Only one point separates the two sides in the Championship table, and Wrexham have only lost five of their 20 home matches this season. Southampton are unbeaten in eight on the road and can earn a share of the spoils.

      Wrexham vs Southampton Predictions

      • Wrexham have won three of their last four at home in the Championship
      • Southampton are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions on their travels
      • Southampton got the better of Wrexham in a 2-1 win back in August

Wrexham face Southampton in a Championship six-pointer on Tuesday as both teams look to bolster their playoff ambitions.

The Welsh outfit are hanging onto the sixth and final playoff spot heading into the next round of fixtures, but they are only ahead of Southampton by one point.

Tonda Eckert’s side have got a game in hand over their hosts and they will feel that they do not have to take too many risks on the road. A draw would be deemed a successful result for the Saints, who have improved their top-six hopes by avoiding defeat in 15 consecutive matches.

Confidence will be high in the Southampton camp after their 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final success over Arsenal, but Wrexham are a resolute outfit at home, having lost only five games in front of their own fans in the league.

Phil Parkinson’s men have won three of their last four matches in the second tier at home, scoring nine goals in the process. However, two defeats in five suggest Wrexham are not firing on all cylinders and considering what is at stake, a draw would be welcomed by both clubs after a busy few days.
