Wrexham to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Wrexham have won nine of their last 12 games and have scored multiple goals in nine of those games too. Both teams have scored in seven of Yeovil’s last eight games, which have seen an average of 4.1 goals and suggests a high-scoring contest will ensue here.

Wrexham 3-1

Reason for tip

Wrexham have the firepower to score plenty against a team two divisions below them and they beat Farnborough, also of the National League South, 4-1 at the same stage of the cup last season. Yeovil are a little better, but have been involved in some open, high-scoring games lately. They have the potential to score themselves, particularly with the injury to Reds keeper Arthur Okonkwo disrupting the home side.

Wrexham vs Yeovil Town Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in seven of Yeovil’s last eight games
  • Wrexham lost first-choice goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo to injury this week
  • The Reds have scored multiple goals in seven of their last eight games

Wrexham seek another extended run in cup

Wrexham can reach the third round of the FA Cup for the second year running by beating former National League rivals Yeovil Town in Sunday’s clash at The Racecourse Ground.

These two clubs met twice last season but while the Reds secured their return to the Football League again, Yeovil were relegated to National League South.

Mark Cooper’s are six points clear at the top of that division, but lost their unbeaten tag in spectacular style when losing 4-1 to lowly Welling last Saturday.

Glovers could get their fingers burnt in open game

Complacency could have crept in or some players could have been taking it easy ahead of this weekend’s more glamourous fixture, but confidence in the camp is unlikely to have been affected.

Yeovil are an attacking side that average more than two goals a game this season, but they have a tendency to get involved in open games and that could see them punished by higher-class opponents like Wrexham.

An injury to first-choice keeper Arthur Okonkwo could disrupt the Reds enough for Yeovil to get on the scoresheet and bring BTTs into play, but the safer bet here is to back the hosts to win with over 3.5 goals — a goal quota they are well capable of fulfilling themselves.
