Tip Reasoning
- Wycombe Wanderers have lost all seven of their Championship fixtures this term.
- The Chairboys have failed to score in five of those games, netting just two goals in total.
- Watford head into Tuesday’s contest seeking their fifth win and clean sheet of the season.
- The Hornets have conceded just three goals in their seven league outings thus far.
Another Defeat Beckons for Wanderers
Third-placed Watford are looking strong and can inflict an eighth consecutive defeat upon Wycombe when the sides clash at Adams Park on Tuesday night.
The Hornets were cruelly denied all three points against fellow promotion favourites Bournemouth at the weekend after Chris Mepham cancelled out Stipe Perica’s opener in the fifth minute of stoppage time, but Vladan Ivic’s charges are expected to respond in the right way here.
Watford’s attitude and commitment has been undeniable since their relegation from the Premier League and their performances have consistently reflected this. Ivic’s side have 14 points on the board having lost just one of their first seven Championship games and we’re backing them to attain a fifth win and clean sheet in eight this week.
With just three goals conceded overall, Watford’s backline should be untroubled by a Wycombe attack that has mustered just two goals this season. Those strikes have arisen in the host’s last two fixtures, but the value this Tuesday clearly lays in a Watford ‘Win to Nil’ with Wycombe failing to net in five of their seven outings.
The away side are hardly prolific themselves with just seven netted in seven and tend to approach matters in workmanlike fashion. They have scored just once in five of their seven games, so we’re also predicting a 0-1 score-line for the action at Adams Park.
