Young Boys vs FK Liepaja Predictions
- Young Boys are unbeaten in their last six competitive games, winning five.
- The Swiss giants have scored 17 goals throughout that run.
- Liepaja are fourth in the Latvian Higher League and have lost three of their last five competitive games.
- The hosts have beaten a -2 handicap in four of their last six outings, including against Swiss champions Zurich.
Young Boys set to build on first-leg win
Swiss giants Young Boys came away from Latvia with a 1-0 advantage after the first leg of their Europa Conference League qualification tie with Liepaja, but if their recent results are anything to go by, Raphael Wicky’s charges should be far more comfortable at the Wankforf Stadium.
Young Boys, who have kicked off their Swiss Super League campaign with back-to-back wins as hope of a title bid mounts, have won five of their last six competitive fixtures, scoring a massive 17 goals during that sequence. Indeed, having thrashed heavy-hitters Zurich 4-0 less than two weeks ago, a Young Boys team with four handicap-busting victories in their last six games looks set to dominate once more.
Liepaja, meanwhile, did well to keep the scoreline down in the first leg, though they have lost three of their last five matches, winning just once, after that defeat. Liepaja, currently fourth in Latvia’s top flight, have also failed to score in three of those games, and look unlikely to provide much resistance here.
Hosts expected to rack up comfortable victory
With Young Boys in terrific form and putting far more accomplished opponents than Liepaja to the sword recently, we’re confidently backing them to beat a -2 handicap and cruise into the next round.
Meanwhile, Liepaja’s recent lack of goals makes a 3-0 home win appear a solid correct score prediction.
