Tony Mowbray may have been a relatively uninspiring choice to succeed Owen Coyle at Ewood Park but he has made a real impact on this Blackburn side. Their late leveller at Fulham in midweek emphasised the new found spirit they’ve discovered and with home advantage here, they could just have the edge.

Preston are in decent form too though so it is likely to be a very close game. They are still only one place above the drop-zone but you sense there is now real belief in their camp and this Mowbray honeymoon period could go on for a while longer. They’ve taken 1.42 points per game at Ewood this term, which is respectable for a relegation-threatened side and have only lost once at home in the league since Christmas.

Preston do draw a lot of games, so it’d be a risk to back Rovers to win outright but backing Blackburn 0.0 Asian Handicap at 1.74 looks to offer good value here, as they really don’t look like losing matches right now and Preston simply aren’t winning games on the road.
