Exeter City vs Crawley Town Predictions

With the end of the season now firmly in their sights, time is quickly running out for sides to ensure they have sufficient points on the board in order to ensure they can accomplish the goals they set for themselves at the start of the campaign. This weekend, play-off chasing Exeter City look to ensure they take a step closer to the top seven when they welcome a Crawley side who have been out of form of late.

Exeter City will go into this weekend’s fixture in pretty buoyant mood following last weekends comfortable 2-0 victory over out of form Port Vale, and they will be relieved that they were able to bounce back from a spell of form which had started to endanger their chances of a top seven finish. Prior to that victory the Grecians had been on the wrong end of defeats to Macclesfield and Mansfield, and although they were able to earn a point against Cheltenham in between those defeats, they are currently the last of the sides eligible for the end of season play-offs, due to their current positioning.

Making the trip to St James Park is a Crawley Town side who will also be travelling with a sense of relief after they put an end to their own run of bad results with a 1-0 defeat away to Yeovil Town last weekend. Prior to that victory the Red Devils had suffered four defeats in a row, and with 12 goals conceded in those same four games, it appeared like a run of results which was showing little chance of stopping.

Although both of these sides go into this match on the back of a morale boosting victory, only one of them still have something left to play for this season. When you consider that the visitors have the worst away record in the division and that their victory came against a Yeovil side who are seemingly incapable of a positive result at the moment, then a home win looks like the most likely result and is where we are placing our trust in this fixture.
