Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

Group F winners the Netherlands have been handed a difficult clash in the last 32, as they take on a Morocco side that made the semi-finals in 2022.

The Atlas Lions are unbeaten across their last 34 matches, and they’ll be stern opposition in Monterrey. On top of 16/1 & 3/1 selections in our Netherlands vs Morocco predictions, I’ve picked out a 44/1 bet builder tip for the game.

Both teams to score

Morocco’s 2022 run was built on strong defensive foundations, as was their Africa Cup of Nations campaign on home soil earlier this year. However, new coach Mohamed Ouahbi has made them a bit more adventurous, and they’ve scored in all eight games under his watch.

That culminated in their 4-2 win over Haiti in the group stage, where they generated 3.76 xG, but defensive issues troubled them again. The Atlas Lions have conceded in five of those eight games under Ouahbi, and they meet a high-scoring Dutch side.

The Netherlands netted 10 times in the group stage, but they’ve conceded in all seven of their matches in 2026.

Ismael Saibari to score anytime

Those defensive issues for the Dutch should suit Saibari, who has benefited from Morocco’s more attacking style.

The striker scored 15 goals in the Dutch Eredivisie with PSV this season. He scored in all three of Morocco’s group stage matches at this tournament, and he can carry that streak on in the last 32.

Achraf Hakimi to take 2+ shots

Hakimi has played a part in Morocco’s attack from full-back; he has 10 shots in three games at the World Cup, a joint-high with Saibari for Morocco.

He’s taken at least two shots in each game at the tournament, including three efforts against Brazil. Back him to push forward again, with the PSG player backed to record at least two shots.

Jan Paul van Hecke to be carded

New Tottenham signing van Hecke has avoided a booking at this tournament so far, but he has made three fouls across his last two games.

The defender was booked twice in qualifying for the Dutch, despite only featuring in four games. He was booked 10 times for Brighton last term, including nine cautions in the Premier League. At 4/1, he stands out in the card betting.
