With two Champions League fixtures and a trio of Premier League games scheduled for Wednesday there is plenty of opportunity for the big names to shine this week and our new feature, Creative Kings, aims to pick out the players that drive their teams forward.

I’ve picked out four midfield (and in one case defensive) playmakers from Wednesday’s matchups and combined them into one juicy 82/1 accumulator.

82/1 Creative Kings accumulator

Atletico Madrid vs Man Utd

Creative King – Bruno Fernandes

Atletico Madrid’s defence isn’t what it used to be and with 16 goals conceded across their last eight matches Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes will be looking to make an impact at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

The 27-year-old scored and assisted in the Red Devils’ 4-2 win at Leeds on Sunday to make it 11 assists across 30 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League this season. He has provided for his teammates four times in his last seven competitive appearances and since arriving at Old Trafford in January 2020 he has laid on 36 goals.

His underlying stats are some of the best in the game, too. He has created more chances (72) than any other player in the Premier League this season and has created the sixth most chances (16) in the Champions League despite only starting four of Manchester United’s six games. He is joint-top in big chances created in the Premier League alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and he has created 22 chances in his last six outings for his club.

Benfica vs Ajax

Creative King – Dusan Tadic

Dusan Tadic has put on a passing masterclass since swapping Southampton for Amsterdam in 2017/18 and this season is no different. His 15 Eredivisie assists this term make it an incredible 59 league assists in his four seasons at Ajax and he is showing no signs of slowing down.

He has created four goals in his last  five league games and tops the Eredivisie charts by a mile when it comes to big chances created with 21. For comparison, the next highest tally is nine.

Tadic may have only provided one assist in Ajax’s incredible Champions League group stage run but he is second only to Vinicius Junior when it comes to chances created in the Champions League with 19 key passes. Back him to terrorise a Benfica defence that haven’t kept a clean sheet in six competitive outings.

Burnley vs Tottenham

Creative King – Heung-min Son

Heung-min Son bagged a brace of assists in Tottenham’s epic 3-2 win at Manchester City on Saturday and it was no surprise to see Harry Kane on the end of one of his passes.

That assist to Kane equalled the Premier League record for goal combinations, with the two Spurs stars combining for 36 league goals, 14 of which came last season alone.

Tottenham haven’t exactly been purring with confidence this season but the resurrection of Kane’s goalscoring form has seen Son’s output increase significantly. Three of his five league assists this season have come in his last four appearances and he is seventh in the top flight for chances created.

Liverpool vs Leeds

Creative King – Andrew Robertson

Trent Alexander-Arnold may be the overall creative king for Liverpool but Andrew Robertson appeals at a significantly bigger price. Both of Jurgen Klopp’s star full-backs are expected to return after being rested against Norwich and Robertson is flying under the radar compared to his right-sided teammate.

The Scotland international has laid on four assists in his last five outings for Liverpool and has created seven big chances this season. He has created 37 chances in the Premier League this season which, for comparison, is just nine fewer than the much-lauded Kevin de Bruyne.

To further reinforce the excellent creative form Robertson is in, ten of these chances have come in his last four league appearances and he will face a Leeds side that shipped four at home to Manchester United on Sunday and who have allowed their opponents more chances than all but two of the teams in the Premier League this season.
