Arsenal to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Arsenal have won five games in a row and they should extend that run to six by beating Atletico Madrid, who are still searching for a first away success of the season. Expect a low-scoring clash, though, with none of the Gunners’ last nine games featuring more than three goals.

      Arsenal 2-0

      Reason for tip

Both of Arsenal’s Champions League wins have come by a 2-0 scoreline and they will look to match that against Atleti. The Spanish giants have scored seven goals in two European outings but they may find things tougher against the Gunners, who have kept four clean sheets in five games.

      Gabriel Martinelli To Score Anytime

      Reason for tip

Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game in Arsenal’s win over Fulham but he is likely to lose his place to Gabriel Martinelli, who has netted twice in as many Champions League appearances. The Brazilian matched Trossard’s xG figure of 0.6 in 70 fewer minutes against the Cottagers and should continue his bright form.

      Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid Predictions

      • Arsenal have won their last five matches
      • Atletico have managed just five wins in ten
      • Four of Arsenal’s last five games have seen them win to nil

      Hosts heading for another victory

Saturday’s 1-0 win over Fulham made it five wins in a row for Arsenal and while that result may not seem spectacular on the surface, it was another impressive performance from the Premier League title favourites.

The Gunners won the xG battle 1.8-0.4 at Craven Cottage and Mikel Arteta’s side look by far and away the best side in England’s top flight.

The Premier League title is their goal but Arteta is ambitious and so are his players, so there is a good possibility they also fancy their chances in the Champions League, where they have also made a fast start.

      Emirates encounter may be cagey

Professional performances have been the motive in Europe, where Arsenal have beaten both Athletic Bilbao and Olympiakos 2-0, and that is sure to be what they put in against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

Atleti have picked up form of late, winning four times during a five-match unbeaten run, but their away form leaves them looking vulnerable for a trip to the Emirates, where the Gunners are unbeaten in six.

Diego Simeone’s side are still searching for a first away win of the season and that is unlikely to arrive in north London.

Martinelli might have his say again

Although, while a repeat of the defeat they suffered on their last visit to England is likely, a similar scoreline to their 3-2 defeat at Liverpool is not sure to play out.

Shackling an Atleti side which has put five past both Frankfurt and Real Madrid in recent outings will not be easy but Arsenal have kept four clean sheets in five games and should have enough to stifle their visitors.

The Gunners’ depth has been a key part of their success and Gabriel Martinelli is one of a few talented players who will come into a rotated side.

The Brazilian winger has scored in Arsenal’s two Champions League matches this term and may continue that run against Atleti.
