Excellent game in prospect for the neutrals

From a neutral perspective, the hosts have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch this season as prior to Vladimir Petković’s dismissal, they had conceded more goals than any other side in Europe’s top five leagues. However, last weekend was no different as they shipped three goals within half an hour away to Lens. Bordeaux’s home matches have seen an average of 3.6 goals per game in Ligue 1 this season and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a plethora of goals in this clash too.

There has been a winner in all of the previous 16 head-to-heads when Bordeaux have been the hosts and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see that run extend to 17. They dropped out of the top four after a 0-0 draw at home to Lorient last time out and they will be desperate to put three more points on the board. Monaco have struggled away from home this season and have won just three of their nine away matches where they’ve gone off as market favourites.

Goals in abundance at both ends

Monaco’s away-day blues look set to continue and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them fall behind in this one and be forced to make a comeback. We think there will be at least three goals but we also think both teams will get on the scoresheet in this one.
