      Everton to Win

      Reason for tip

Everton have enjoyed a settled summer, while also adding some depth and quality to their squad. The Toffees are fancied to see off a Crystal Palace side, who have plenty to prove with Oliver Glasner no longer in charge.

      Everton 2-1

      Reason for tip

Everton are unbeaten in their last 11 matches against Crystal Palace and three of their last four meetings have ended in a 2-1 win of the Toffees. A repeat 2-1 success looks likely for David Moyes’ men.

      Everton vs Crystal Palace Predictions

      • Everton are unbeaten in their last 11 matches against Crystal Palace
      • Crystal Palace won only 11 of 38 Premier League games last season
      • Crystal Palace scored just 41 league goals last term

      Toffees a sweet bet

Crystal Palace have won the FA Cup and Conference League in the last two seasons and it has been the most successful period in the club’s history.

The Eagles will hope for more trophies this term, but it has been a summer of change in south London.

Trophy-winning manager Oliver Glasner has left to join Nottingham Forest and excellent defender Maxence Lacroix made a big-money move to Chelsea.

Palace lost fellow centre-back Marc Guehi to Manchester City in January and replacements have been in short supply.

Anan Khalaili, Oscar Mingueza and Takehiro Tomiyasu have made the move to Selhurst Park, while Dwight McNeill was swapped with Brennan Johnson heading for Everton.

Excellent performers Adam Warton, Daniel Munoz and Ismaila Sarr remain at the club, but there is uncertainty with former Lyon and Lens boss Pierre Sage at the helm.

Palace could only finish 15th in the Premier League last season and the Eagles won just 11 of 38 top-flight games. However, the domestic form suffered with European glory taking priority and the south Londoners rate a stronger team than their league finish indicates.

Everton have strengthened with the signings of Brennan Johnson, Merlin Rohl, Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard and a permanent deal for Tyrique George.

The Toffees are a robust and well-structured side under David Moyes and Everton can be fancied to improve on last term’s 13th-place finish.

Everton were good enough to take points from games against Aston Villa, Brighton, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City last term and they can benefit from a summer of stability.

The Toffees would have hoped for more than six home Premier League wins in the previous campaign, but they should be more settled at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this term and that number is expected to increase.

Moyes is an experienced manager, who will make his side difficult to beat and the Toffees may have a little too much for Crystal Palace.

Everton are unbeaten in their last 11 games against the Eagles and the excellent record can be extended on Saturday.
