Bristol City vs Fleetwood Town Predictions

This game looks like a potential candidate for a 3rd Round upset with Bristol City in really poor form in the Championship and Fleetwood having a good season in League One. Certainly the way the Robins have been defending of late, there should be chances in this for the visitors and it could be a good spectacle.

Lee Johnson has done a good job at Bristol City but right now he must be feeling the heat a little. His side have lost 9 of their last 10 matches and have plummeted towards the relegation scrap in the Championship, having been looking like dark-horses for a play-off place prior to that. They are still scoring goals with both teams netting in all of their last 4 matches and a brace for Tammy Abraham last time out took his tally for the season to 14. However, Reading fought back from 2-0 down, to win 3-2 and it was the 4th game in succession that Bristol City had conceded a decisive winning goal in the 84th minute or later.

They seem a bit jittery right now and incapable of seeing games out and with no real pressure on Fleetwood here, they could very well exploit those issues again. The Lancashire club are unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions coming into this and are currently in the top six of League One, which is some going for a club of their size. Like Bristol City, they have a prolific front-man in the shape of David Ball. The 27 year old is enjoying his best season in front of goal with 9 to his name so far and backing Ball to score anytime at 12/5 looks a decent bet here.

Bristol City have enough firepower to cause League One opposition plenty of problems but with only 2 clean sheets in 16 games, you have to worry about them at the other end. Both teams have scored in 6 of their last 8 games and in 6 of Fleetwood’s last 9 away matches so backing Both Teams to Score at 19/20 looks to offer value here.
