      Cardiff to Win

      Reason for tip

Cardiff are the best bet to win at home against Leyton Orient. The Bluebirds are fourth in League One, scoring freely at home while boasting a strong defence. Leyton Orient are struggling, having failed to win five of their last six games and conceding 18 goals this season.

      Cardiff 3-1

      Reason for tip

Cardiff’s attacking strength and Leyton Orient’s defensive vulnerabilities, combined with recent high-scoring matches for the visitors, support the expectation of multiple goals in this League One clash.

      Cardiff vs Leyton Orient Predictions

Cardiff to cruise to home win

Cardiff should be backed to get a home win over Leyton Orient on Saturday, with Brian Barry-Murphy’s side well placed to get the better of Richie Wellens’ team at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The hosts have been a potent attacking force, scoring an average of 2.25 goals a game in their four League One home games against bottom-half teams, and at the other end, the Bluebirds have been just as impressive, with no team having a tighter defence than their six goals conceded in ten games.

That strength is reflected in the table. Cardiff are fourth in League One, 13 places and nine points above Leyton Orient, with six wins, two draws and two losses from their ten games this season. The visitors are in 17th place, having won three, drawn two and lost five.

Recent results underline the visitors’ wobble. Leyton Orient lost 3-2 to Stevenage last weekend, and that result is part of a wider slump, as the O’s have failed to win five of their last six League One games, with four of those matches ending in defeat. Backing their opponents during this run would have resulted in a profit of 6.83 units. The visitors’ slump is compounded by their struggles at the back – no team has shipped more goals in League One this season than the 18 that Leyton Orient have conceded, and they have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in six straight games.

A 3-1 home win is the correct-score pick. There have been over 2.5 goals in four of Leyton Orient’s last six League One matches.
