Cardiff vs Swansea City Predictions

  • Swansea have won seven of the last nine head-to-heads
  • Both teams to score has only landed in one of the last 12 meetings between these two
  • Only two teams have a worse defensive record than Cardiff this season

Both sides struggling

Cardiff and Swansea have both had disappointing starts to the new season, with the pair winning just one of their ten combined games.  The Bluebirds have been the sole victors, getting the better of Sheffield Wednesday before losing 3-2 to Ipswich having been 2-0 up.

Swansea have had a tough run of fixtures to start the campaign under new manager Michael Duff and have taken just two points from a possible 15. However a much easier run is on the horizon and they could use this South Wales derby as a jolt to kick start their season.

Their rock solid record in this game makes them hard to oppose and they may be able to grind out another derby win.

Swansea may click

Cardiff have been open at the back this season, only Rotherham and bottom side Middlesbrough have conceded more than their ten and that could be their undoing in this clash.

Only one of the last 12 head-to-heads has seen both teams score so punters looking to back a correct score prediction should side with a 2-0 win for the Swans.

New signing Jerry Yates has acclimatised well to his new team, netting twice already and he looks to have a solid chance of getting on the scoresheet.
