Cardiff and Swansea have both had disappointing starts to the new season, with the pair winning just one of their ten combined games.  The Bluebirds have been the sole victors, getting the better of Sheffield Wednesday before losing 3-2 to Ipswich having been 2-0 up.

Swansea have had a tough run of fixtures to start the campaign under new manager Michael Duff and have taken just two points from a possible 15. However a much easier run is on the horizon and they could use this South Wales derby as a jolt to kick start their season.
