Celtic can start League Cup campaign with victory

Celtic have started the new season as they ended the last, with their two league victories extending their winning run to eight games, and they can continue their stunning form when they host struggling Hibs at Celtic Park.

The Bhoys have not lost at home in any competition since a 2-0 league defeat to Hearts in December 2023, winning 12 of their 13 matches in front of their own fans since across league and cup obligations.

Hibs enjoyed a strong start to the campaign after finishing top of the pile in Group C in the League Cup however they are yet to get going in the league, losing their opening two matches and failing to score in either.

The most recent of these defeats came at home to Celtic last weekend – with goals from Nikolas Kuhn and Callum McGregor securing a 2-0 victory for the Bhoys – and another shutout victory could be in store on Sunday. Home advantage could see Celtic run away with things and a 3-0 win draws some appeal.
