CSA vs Fortaleza Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Saturday’s Brazilian Serie B action features an interesting clash between CSA and Fortaleza. The hosts will be looking to knock their opponents off of top spot by claiming the three points in front of the home crowd.

CSA’s magical story shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. The side have risen up from the fourth tier in recent years and few could have imagined that after 15 Serie B matches they’d find themselves in second place, but that’s exactly where they are with top spot now firmly in their sights.

Azulão do Mutange were expected to struggle with life in the second tier but have instead thrived, with boss Marcelo Cabo doing a fantastic job. Meanwhile, fellow newly promoted outfit Fortaleza were also flying but are now starting to really struggle. Tricolor won 7 of their opening 8 matches but then lost a couple of key players to top flight clubs and have struggled to recover since, now arriving having lost 4 of the last 6 matches.

Though they still sit top of the pile, what once was a big gap between themselves and the chasing pack has been cut significantly and the visitors look like dropping out of the top four all together, unless a swift improvement in performance is found. Goals are starting to prove hard to come by for Rogério Ceni’s troops, having failed to notch in their last two games and that was particularly apparent last weekend when they lost 1-0 at home to an Atletico GO side that played most of the match with 10 men.

Whilst both teams can be extremely pleased with the work they’ve put in so far, they now look to be heading in opposite directions, with CSA in great form and Fortaleza beginning to falter.

As such, the odds on offer for the match make very little sense and CSA simply have to be considered stronger favourites to win the match than they are priced as.
