Cordoba Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

These two sides have both made a slow start to the season but Elche are yet to score a goal while Cordoba looked dangerous when drawing 2-2 with Burgos and were unlucky not to come away from anything at Mirandes, where they racked up 28 shots and hit the target seven times. The hosts are winless in eight and while a draw is not out of the question, it is difficult to imagine them winning this clash.

Cordoba 1-0

Reason for tip

Cordoba do have some decent attacking talent but Elche are yet to concede more than once in a game this term. However, given Los Frangiverds are yet to find the net themselves, a narrow 1-0 win for the visitors looks a likely scoreline.

Elche vs Cordoba Predictions

  • Elche are on a eight-match winless run, losing and failing to score in each of their two matches this term
  • Cordoba have lost just two of their last 18 matches and earned a good point against Burgos, who finished ninth in the Segunda Division, in their most recent game
  • The visitors racked up 28 shots in their first away match of the campaign

Cordoba could add to Elche’s woes

It has been a difficult start to the season for Elche, who are sat on zero points having failed to even score a single goal in their opening two matches of the campaign, but they may fancy their chances against newly promoted Cordoba.

The visitors are only one point better off than their hosts, although that draw did come against Burgos, a side who finished above Elche last term, suggesting they could hold their own in Alicante.

Cordoba have lost just two of their last 18 away games and while most of those matches came in the third tier, there was enough to like in their opening road fixture of this Segunda Division campaign to suggest they could put up a decent fight at the Estadio Martínez Valero.

Hosts heading for more disappointment

In their clash with Mirandes, the Caliphs racked up a monstrous 28 shots – seven of which hit the target – nine corners and 68 per cent of the possession while limiting their hosts to just three efforts in total.

Elche have also won the shot count in both of their clashes, but the fact they are yet to find the net is a worry and Cordoba, who scored twice in their last match, may have slightly too much firepower for their misfiring hosts, whose winless streak looks set to be extended to nine.
