FC Porto To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Porto have won their last six home matches to nil and should have no issues in extending that sensational run against a Boavista side who have managed just two victories in 16 games this season.

FC Porto 2-0

Reason for tip

Five of the wins in Porto’s six-match run of home victories to nil have come via a 2-0 scoreline and it could pay to stick with that result against Boavista, who have conceded more that two goals in just one of their last ten games.

FC Porto vs Boavista Predictions

  • Porto are unbeaten at home this term, winning 11 of those 12 matches
  • The Dragons have won their last six at home without conceding a single goal
  • Boavista have won just two of their 16 matches in all competitions, losing eight of those

Hosts heading for another comfortable victory

Ruben Amorim’s departure for Manchester United has blown the Primeira Liga title race wide open, with his former side Sporting being usurped by Benfica at the summit on Monday.

Now just one point separates the leaders, second-placed Sporting and third-placed Porto, who look likely to continue their pursuit of the top two with a comfortable win on Saturday.

A visit from relegation-threatened Boavista is unlikely to cause the 30-time Portuguese champions many issues, especially as the away side have managed just two wins in their 16 matches in all competitions.

Boavista bound to struggle in Porto derby

Porto, meanwhile, have enjoyed an excellent season, winning 12 of their 15 Primeira Liga matches and boasting the second-best defence in the division, conceding only nine goals.

That resilience is unlikely to be required too often against a Boavista side who have blanked in ten of their last 15 games, though, and a clean sheet should accompany a home win.

The Dragons are unbeaten at home this term and given they have won each of their last six matches at the Estadio do Dragao without conceding, another win to nil looks to be on the cards this weekend.
