Swansea City vs Southampton Predictions

Big opportunity for Southampton

Southampton head to Swansea in the early Championship game on Saturday and they have a real chance to put some pressure on the top two.

Saints sit third in the table and can move into second with a win, and the current top two are due to meet on Monday as Leicester entertain Ipswich.

Southampton thrashed Swansea 5-0 in the reverse fixture on Boxing Day and that result suggests they can win fairly comfortably in South Wales.

The visitors have won six of their last seven games and four of those victories have been by two or more goals, and they head into Saturday’s game after back-to-back 4-0 wins.

As such, backing Saints to cover a -1 handicap looks the best option here. Swansea should at least be able to keep the scoreline more respectable than the last meeting and a 3-1 win for the visitors is the correct score prediction.

The Swans haven’t conceded more than three goals in any home game this season and have scored in each of their last six at the Liberty, so they can at least grab a consolation effort.
