Finland vs Liechtenstein Predictions

Finland won their last game at home to Armenia 3-0 and remain on course to qualify for the upcoming European Championship, while a 5-0 defeat at home to Italy leaves Liechtenstein bottom of Group J without a win and with just two qualifiers remaining.

All of the stats suggest Friday’s match is likely to be a low-scoring affair but we make Finland strong favourites to claim all three points and have backed the hosts to win 2-0.

Under 2.5 goals were produced in the last three meetings between these two countries and Finland have never scored more than two goals against Liechtenstein. The last meeting between the pair ended in a 2-0 win for Finland in June.

The form of both teams heading into Friday’s clash only adds weight to our prediction for a home win, as Finland have won four of their last six matches, while Liechtenstein have lost four of their last six. Finland have also kept four clean sheets in their last six matches and their guests have failed to score in four of their last six internationals.

Under 2.5 goals were produced in three of Finland’s last six and three of Liechtenstein’s last five matches. Finland have only scored more than two goals in one of their last 17 matches and Liechtenstein have only conceded more than two goals in five of their last 14 matches. Under 2.5 goals were also produced in six of Finland’s last nine home games.

We’re confident under 2.5 goals will be produced in Friday’s clash. The hosts have outperformed their guests in all areas during qualifying and head into this match as the clear form favourites. However, Finland haven’t scored heavily in qualifying, despite sitting second in the group. Armenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina have both scored more goals yet sit five points behind Friday’s hosts. That is why we have only backed a 2-0 win for the home side this Friday.
