Genoa vs Frosinone Predictions

Genoa can slice through their rivals

It is three defeats in three Serie A matches for Genoa, who have started the campaign with a 2-0 loss to Napoli, 1-0 reversal against Lazio and 4-1 defeat to Como. 

That is a pretty tough set of fixtures for the Griffin to face, but it has to be a worry for a side who could only finish 16th last season and 17 points above the relegation zone. 

Genoa only gave up an expected goals figure of 0.77 in the 2-0 home loss to Napoli, but Daniele De Rossi’s men have created an xG of 0.67, 0.42 and 0.78 in their three Italian top-flight matches. 

The lack of goal threat is a major concern, even if Genoa have faced a difficult set of fixtures, and the Griffin will hope they can make the most of a drop in class against Frosinone.

The Canaries have an eye-catching 3-0 win at Fiorentina on their record this season and Massimiliano Alvini’s men were 3-2 winners over Venezia at Stadio Benito Stirpe last weekend. 

However, Frosinone conceded 25 efforts on goal and eight corners against the Viola and they were pretty fortunate to beat Venezia when giving up an xG of 2.17 on Sunday. 

The Canaries were playing second-tier football last season and they may have a bigger gap to bridge at Genoa than the prices suggest.
