Harrogate Town vs Oldham Predictions

Harrogate on an alarming run

After such a promising start to the season, Harrogate have tailed away dramatically and come into this fixture on the back of successive 4-0 defeats, to Luton in the FA Cup and then Newport in the league last weekend.

Simon Weaver’s side have not won in five League Two outings, failed to score in four of their last nine and have slipped into the bottom half of the table.

The visit of Oldham might inspire a turn around in form, but having fired blanks in two of their last four league games at Wetherby Road, conceding nine times in the process, they need tighten up at both ends.

Oldham facing relegation?

It has been a terrible season for Oldham, who are staring into the abyss of Non League football for the first time and are not helped by a run of one win in their last 12 League Two outings.

The Latics are finding goals a real problem. They have failed to score in their last three on the road in the league, while both teams have netted in just two of their last nine on their travels.

A lot depends on what Oldham defence turns up, though, as although they have kept five clean sheets in eight away matches, their total of 39 goals conceded is the second worst record in the division.

Neither of these sides have shown much promise going forward lately, so I predict both teams will not score, selecting a 1-0 win to Harrogate as a correct score.
