Hearts’ excellent season is in danger of fizzling out as we approach the final stages. They are comfortably in 3rd position with an 11 point gap over St Johnstone in 4th, but an insurmountable looking nine point gulf lies between them and 2nd placed Aberdeen. Manager Robbie Nielson will have to work hard to make sure his players continue performing well and end the season on a high.

The rest of the Scottish Premiership is looking very tight though, and Inverness are a part of that battle. Their 33 point tally puts them in 7th position in the table, with a win potentially taking them up to 4th and a loss meaning they could drop into 10th. This extremely tight section of the Scottish Premiership means that as many as eight teams could be embroiled in a battle to stay out of the relegation playoff position. That’s two-thirds of the entire division!

Hearts may have the potential to go off the boil towards the end of the season, but I don’t see that happening here. Their home form has been excellent throughout the season and hasn’t slowed down recently either. They have won five of their last eight home matches and haven’t lost since a 2-1 defeat to Celtic back in October. I fancy this home form to continue on Tuesday as they come up against an Inverness CT side who have only won two of their last five away days in all competitions.

Inverness have had the better of Hearts in recent meetings between the sides, but Hearts have dramatically improved this season after their windfall promotion last term. I think the odds of 4/6 for a Hearts win offer a fair amount of value. The hosts have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four home matches too, so I think lumping for a 2-0 correct score prediction is valuable as well.
