Hibernian vs St Mirren Predictions
- Both teams have scored in 73% of the hosts’ home games this season, with the Hibees conceding an average of 1.45 goals.
- St Mirren has only kept a clean sheet in two of their eleven away days, letting in 1.64 goals on average.
- The Hibees have scored at least twice in six of their last seven fixtures at Easter Road.
Hibees see too many goals
Hibs progressed to the next round of the Scottish FA Cup as they defeated Championship leaders Dundee United in Tuesday’s replay. The Hibees will now want to extend their unbeaten run in the league to three games.
Jack Ross’ side is also unbeaten in seven of their last eight games at Easter Road, where they’ve also managed to score an average of 1.73 goals and only failing to do so once in their eleven games on home turf. However, the club has also let in a fair amount too, conceding 1.45 times per game and only keeping a clean sheet on two occasions.
No luck for the Buddies on the road
St Mirren picked up their third draw in six games last week as they saw out a goalless draw with Aberdeen in Paisley, although it has enabled Jim Goodwin’s side to extend the small gap with the relegation zone to a couple of points.
The club still struggles on the road, where they’ve picked up just four points in eleven games. The Buddies find it hard to score on their travels, as they’ve only netted six times and have failed to do so in six of those games. Things aren’t any better in defence, where they’ve only kept a clean sheet twice and have let in an average of 1.64 goals per game.
Hibees to continue growing
Despite struggling to score in their away days, St Mirren has certainly improved in recent games, as they’ve scored at least once in three of their last five ties and their hosts have only kept a clean sheet twice. Moreover, Hibs have seen both teams score in eight of their eleven home games this season, which is why we’re backing both teams to score here.
We’re also going for a final score of 2-1 to the Edinburgh club, because they’ve scored at least two goals in six of their last seven home games but have also let in 1.57 goals in those matches, with St Mirren also letting in 1.64 goals on their travels.
