Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Juventus are unbeaten in their last 26 games against Bologna, but four of the last five meetings have been drawn. Three of those finished 1-1 and that scoreline could repeat when a Juventus side without their top two strikers meets a Bologna side that has kept three clean sheets in their last five league games.

Juventus vs Bologna Predictions

  • Bologna are uneaten in 10 of their last 11 Serie A games with five of those finishing as draws
  • Juventus are unbeaten in their last 26 games against Bologna

Motta yet to crack the Old Lady’s code

Juventus could lose further ground in the Serie A title race on Saturday when Thiago Motta sends his draw-prone team out to face his former employers Bologna at Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri are unbeaten in eight matches, but only two of those were wins – a sequence of results has left them six points adrift of leaders Napoli. Scoring goals has become a problem for Motta’s men with so many attacking players out injured.

The coach has been forced to play winger Timothy Weah at centre forward or deploy midfielder Teun Koopmeiners as a false nine during the absence of Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik.

Bologna could bolt the back door

Defensively, Juve have been excellent and they will probably look to snatch a 1-0 win in this game thanks to a bit of magic or a set-piece. But Bologna have been solid too, keeping clean sheets in three of their last five Serie A matches and in Tuesday night’s Coppa Italia last-16 win over Monza.

That win came at a price as attacker Riccardo Orsolini picked up a muscle injury that will keep him out on Saturday. Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano could look to batten down the hatches and dig in for a point that would keep Juventus within touching distance in the race for European places.

With both teams in solid form defensively, this match could be a low-scoring affair with 1-1 a reasonable correct score prediction for this evenly-matched contest.
