Juventus 2-0

Reason for tip

Juve will find it tough to break down a deep-lying defence, but they should take heart from their record of having won the last four meetings of the clubs to nil. A scoreline of 2-0 can be possible if they draw Udinese out earlier then they want to by scoring the opener early in the contest.

Juventus vs Udinese Predictions

  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in five of Udinese’as last eight away games
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in three of the last four meetings of the clubs

Bianconeri blinked first in Serie A summit battle

Juventus cannot afford another costly slip-up when they host Udinese in Monday’s meeting at Allianz Stadium.

In the battle for Serie A supremacy with Inter, the Old Lady blinked in a 1-1 draw with Empoli days before Massimiliano Allegri’s side were beaten 1-0 by the Nerazzuri in last weekend’s top-of-the-table clash.

Having led the way for so long, Juventus are now four points behind their title rivals and may not be equipped to play the role of chaser.

Udinese will dig in and make it tough

This is a fixture they should win, but it could be a freight evening in Turin as Udinese will dig in and make things difficult. The Little Zebras played out a 0-0 draw with mid-table Monza last week and remain dangerously close to the drop zone.

Coach Gabriele Cioffi sets his team up in a deep-lying 3-5-1-1 formation that gives opponents little space to exploit in their own half. If Juve do not play with patience, they could be in for a long night.

The obvious play here seems to be to take the result out of the equation and back fewer than three goals being scored.
