Lazio need to put chaos behind them

Lazio have had a chaotic campaign, with a transfer embargo now lifted and Maurizio Sarri’s side doing some serious wheeling and dealing to try and pull themselves out of midtable mediocrity.

Taty Castellanos and Matteo Guendouzi have departed while Kenneth Taylor and Petar Ratkov have been brought in to bulk up their midfield. The new signings failed to make an impact on Monday as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Como, leaving Lazio with seven wins, seven draws and seven defeats from their 21 matches.

They have landed a solid opportunity to bounce back from that disappointment on Saturday however as they visit strugglers Lecce, who have lost four games on the spin.

Goals have been a major issue for the Giallorossi, who have only netted 13 times in 21 matches. No player in their squad has more than two goals in the league this season and their issues in front of goal could be their undoing once more.

Don’t expect a thriller however, 12 of the visitors’ last 14 away games have gone under 2.5 goals and a 1-0 win may be enough for Sarri’s men.
