Leeds vs Burton Albion Predictions
Leeds come into this game after a good week which has seen them win at Wolves in the league and reached the League Cup Quarter-Finals so confidence should be high in their camp. They’ll be expected to win this match which brings its own pressure but they have been dealing better with the weight of expectancy at Elland Road this term. They are unbeaten in 6 at home, winning 4 of those games plus a penalty shoot-out victory over Norwich on Tuesday so they are on one of their best home runs in recent years.
They’re aren’t a spectacular team by any means but defensively they’ve really improved since that opening day loss at QPR. Since then they’ve conceded under 1 goal per game on average and that means Burton will have to work hard if they are to create much here.
The Brewers will be very content with the start they’ve made to life in the Championship but it is worth noting that most of their success has come at the Pirelli Stadium. They average just 0.57 points per game on the road and have lost 2 of their last 3 away fixtures. Defensively they’ve been a bit vulnerable on their travels, letting in 1.86 goals per game on average and that may make things hard for them here as they bid to get a result.
Already it looks like their home form is going to be integral to their season and potential survival but away from home against sides from mid-table up, you have to wonder where their points are going to come from. Leeds are perhaps a bit short on the quality required to mount a play-off challenge but they are looking well-organised under Gary Monk and carry just enough of a goal threat to see off the weaker sides, certainly at home. Therefore, backing Leeds to Win at 21/20 looks to offer the best value here.
