      Manchester City vs Bournemouth Predictions

Pep Guardiola’s reign as Manchester City manager got off to a sketchy start as they required a late winner at home against Sunderland, but any doubts that that performance raised have been well and truly abolished by now.

They followed that narrow victory with a 5-0 thrashing of Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League and then beat Stoke 4-1 in the Premier League. A 1-0 win in the home leg against Steau Bucharest sealed their place in the group stages, and a comfortable 3-1 win at home to West Ham followed.

A trip to Old Trafford awaited Manchester City as Guardiola faced his old foe Jose Mourinho. The visitors were underdogs, but a scintillating first half performance helped them on their way to a 2-1 win, despite Sergio Aguero’s absence through suspension. This leaves them top of the table, but their confidence has been further boosted by evens in midweek.

Manchester City’s match against Borussia Monchengladbach was postponed on Tuesday as heavy rainfall flooded the Etihad pitch. It was rescheduled for Wednesday, and within eight minutes of kick off Aguero had bagged his 4th Champions League goal of the season. He followed it with a first half penalty and completed his hat trick 13 minutes from time, with Kelechi Iheanacho rounding off the victory in the 91st minute. Aguero has now scored six Champions League goals in his two appearances, but fortunately for Bournemouth, he will be suspended for this clash.

The hosts are still a side filled with talent though, and that’s something Bournemouth won’t feel too confident of handling. They lost their opening two games of the Premier League season against Manchester United and West Ham, and despite a League Cup victory over Morecambe, they couldn’t find the three points against Crystal Palace before the international break.

Bournemouth did finally get their first win of the season last weekend with a 1-0 victory over the struggling West Brom, but a trip to the Etihad is an entirely different story.

Manchester City have looked unstoppable for the past month or so, and even without Aguero they have an abundance of talent just waiting to punish the opposition. They have scored 21 goals in their seven games in all competitions this season and conceded just four. They have netted 11 times in their four matches against Bournemouth as well, so a Manchester City -2.0 Asian Handicap Win looks good value at 2.350. I’m going for a 4-0 thrashing at 14/1 for my correct score prediction too.
