      Mansfield Town to Win

      Reason for tip

Mansfield are unbeaten in their last four League One matches and have not lost on home soil in the third tier since early August. Against a struggling Plymouth side that have lost their last two, the Stags should come out on top.

      Mansfield Town 2-1

      Reason for tip

Mansfield have scored exactly two goals in five of their six victories across all competitions this season and they can do so again against a leaky Plymouth defence. The Pilgrims are among the highest scorers in the bottom half so can trouble the scoresheet themselves, bringing the 2-1 home win into play.

Mansfield Town vs Plymouth Argyle Predictions

      • Mansfield are unbeaten in their last four League One fixtures
      • The Stags have not lost a home match in the league since early August
      • No team has conceded more goals than Plymouth (23) in League One this season

      Stags eyeing play-off push

Mansfield are unbeaten in their last four League One matches and have not lost on home soil in the third tier since a 2-1 reverse to Doncaster in early August – form that has seen them move into the top eight of the standings.

The Stags can close to within two points of the play-off places with a victory on Tuesday and having already seen off Blackpool, Leyton Orient and Rotherham at the One Call Stadium in the league this season, they will hope to account for an underperforming Plymouth.

      Pressure mounting on Cleverley

After suffering relegation last season, Plymouth were among the pre-season favourites for promotion, but Tom Cleverley’s side are currently languishing in the relegation zone following back-to-back defeats to AFC Wimbledon and Exeter.

The pressure is mounting on Cleverley, who described his team as being “nowhere near it” in last week’s Devon derby defeat to Exeter, which marked their fourth loss in six away games in League One this season.

Plymouth have conceded 23 goals this season – the joint most in League One – and they are liable to come unstuck on Tuesday against a Mansfield team that are six points and 14 places better off than the Pilgrims in the standings.
