Nottingham Forest to Win

Reason for tip

Nottingham Forest have gone unbeaten in their last 16 games they’ve scored in, winning 12 of those matches. They’ve also won 24 of the last 33 games in which they’ve scored (D8 L1). Bournemouth have conceded the most goals and taken the fewest shots and shots on target in the Premier League this term.

Nottingham Forest 2-0

Reason for tip

Forest have already picked up a win to nil this term, while they should hold off a Bournemouth side who haven’t scored in their last four.

Neco Williams To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Neco Williams has had more shots than any other Nottingham Forest player in the Premier League this season. The wing-back has the highest Expected Goals tally of any player on his side and he can hurt a leaky Bournemouth defence.

Nottingham Forest vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • While Forest struggle at the back, Bournemouth have conceded the most of any side this term
  • The visitors have also got the worst attacking record of any Premier League side so far
  • Forest are unbeaten in 16 games when they’ve scored, winning 12
  • Wing-back Neco Williams has had the most shots of any Forest player this term

Tough week for both sides

Nottingham Forest head into this clash off the back of a 6-0 hammering in midweek. They were blown away by Man City at the Etihad, meaning Forest have lost 8-0 across two games in the last week.

However, that still doesn’t match Bournemouth’s 9-0 loss at Liverpool last Saturday. They then drew 0-0 at home to Wolves after manager Scott Parker was sacked, but the Cherries were second-best in that one. Can they bounce back against newly promoted opposition?

Forest to take advantage

Given that both sides have had heavy defeats, it’s little surprise that they’ve got two of the worst defensive records in the division. Forest have faced more shots (96), more shots on target (39) and have the highest expected goals against total (11.3) of any side in the Premier League this season.

However, Forest have a chance to turn that around given they face Bournemouth, who have had fewer shots (26), fewer shots on target (9) and a lower expected goals tally (1.75) than any other outfit this term.

Forest are a much stronger side going forward and they have only lost one of their last 33 league games (W24 D8) when they’ve found the net. They’re unbeaten in their last 16 when scoring (W12 D4), while the Cherries have shipped a league-high 16 goals so far. Given that, the hosts look like good value for a victory.

Outsider Williams to hurt vulnerable Cherries

Given Bournemouth’s defensive issues, Neco Williams stands out as an alternative goalscorer tip. The former Liverpool man has had more shots (11), created more chances (9) and played more passes into the box (35) than any other Forest player in the league this season. He’s also got the highest xG total of any Forest player, so he’s great value to score.

Bournemouth have now gone four games without a goal in the league, while Forest have already claimed a win to nil at home this term. Given how the visitors have struggled to create and convert chances, I’m backing a 2-0 home win.
