Oxford United vs Accrington Stanley Predictions
- Oxford United have won two in a row following a poor run of form and are now in 9th place.
- Accrington Stanley have won three of their last five, lifting themselves to 14th in League One.
- Oxford have scored 53 goals so far this season, an average of 1.65 goals per game.
- Accrington have scored 46 goals conceded 48, a rate of 1.5 goals per game.
Can Oxford continue their hot streak with another win?
Oxford United seem to have overcome their poor run of form that saw them win just one in eight with victories over AFC Wimbledon and Ipswich in the past week, putting themselves in a position to climb back into the playoffs with a win here. They are currently three points behind sixth placed Fleetwood but if results go their way they would move into the coveted playoff place.
As well as finding their feet and picking up wins in recent weeks, the side have also rediscovered their scoring touch with six goals in their last two games. Prior to this they had scored two goals in three games and looked a bit blunt in attack but Karl Robinson has got his players focused and finding the net once more.
Will Accrington pick up another win and set back the Oxford playoff push?
Accrington have picked up three wins in recent weeks, pulling themselves clear of the teams that were in danger of being pulled into a relegation fight and moving into the lower reaches of mid table. All three of those wins came against sides that were around them in the table so were even more vital with Accrington taking points off of their rivals at the same time.
Accrington have scored a good rate so far this season, even scoring more than three of the teams in the top four of the table but their defensive record has really let them down with an average of 1.5 goals being conceded per game. Their recent form has improved but their goals conceded per game has increased to 1.6 during this good spell.
Which side comes away from the Kassam Stadium with the win?
Oxford United come into the game as favourites and rightly so with the playoff chasing team looking in good form after two impressive wins. They should be taking all three points from this game too with Accrington always looking like conceding and we’re predicting this will be the case and are backing Oxford United on the full time market.
The home side shouldn’t really have too many issues in this match as they look to move back into the playoffs and we’re backing them to pick up a fairly comfortable win on Tuesday evening. Accrington have been playing well recently but shouldn’t cause too much of a threat to an Oxford side that we’re predicting to win 2-0.
