Porto vs Leicester Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Porto still have their Champions League fate in their own hands, but it could be a difficult evening for them on Wednesday. They come into the final group game in 2nd position, but they only have a two point advantage on Copenhagen in 3rd, and with the 3rd placed side having a better head to head record Porto need a win to guarantee a place in the knockout stages.

Wins haven’t been that easy to come across recently either. They managed a 1-0 victory against Sporting Braga on Saturday to end a run of five consecutive draws in normal time, and they have only won two of their last eight outings in all competitions.

This is largely down to a complete absence of any sort of attacking threat. They have scored three times in their last eight matches and have only managed three in their last four home matches too.

This will come as good news to Leicester as they look to maintain their excellent Champions League record. The debutants have already wrapped up the top spot in the group and will be hoping to end the group stages undefeated. They have only conceded one goal in their five Champions League games too, so Porto might well find it difficult to break them down on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for Leicester they haven’t been able to replicate this form domestically. They lost 2-1 at Sunderland on Saturday to make it one win, three draws, and three defeats in their last seven games in all competitions. They are in real danger of being dragged into a relegation battle at the moment, with them holding the same amount of points in the Premier League after 14 games as they have in the Champions League after just five.

This has all the makings of a low scoring game. Leicester have only seen eight goals in their five Champions League matches so far and Porto’s last eight matches have seen a total of four goals. Odds of 1/1 for Under 2.5 Goals look very good value indeed, and I’m backing that along with a goalless draw at 10/1 for my correct score predictions.
