QPR vs Norwich Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

This is perhaps the most interesting game of the whole weekend in the Championship and it is certainly a fixture with the potential to deliver goals. Ian Holloway has swapped the TV studio for a second spell in the QPR dug-out, ten years after he left the club following a five year spell at the helm. His task is to re-vitalise a side that struggled to perform on a consistent basis under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. QPR have picked up just 1 point from their last 3 league games but it’s still only 2 defeats in 8 overall so it’s hardly a train-wreck that Holloway is inheriting but they need to improve on an average of just 1.13 points per game at home.

On the bright side for them, this looks to be a good time to be playing Norwich. The Canaries were hammered 5-0 in their last away game at Brighton and including a penalty shoot-out defeat at Leeds in the League Cup, they’ve lost all of their last 4 matches. Defensively they’ve been really poor all season conceding 1.69 goals per game on average and a massive 2.25 on the road. For a side that was in the Premier League last term, those are alarming statistics. With QPR now under the stewardship of Holloway, typically an attacking coach, there is real potential for QPR to score a goal or two in this game.

However, at the other end Norwich will cause plenty of problems of their own. Only Newcastle can better their goal-scoring record and they’ve netted the same number of goals away as at home so they hardly go into their shell on their travels. Norwich games this season have virtually guaranteed goals with over 2.5 goals in 75% of their home games and 88% of their away matches in the Championship. QPR matches haven’t been quite so entertaining but here we should see two teams genuinely aiming for 3 points and that should create quite an open contest.
