RB Leipzig to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals
Reasoning
RB Leipzig vs Wolfsburg Predictions
- Leipzig have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four Bundesliga home matches.
- Six of Wolfsburg’s last seven away league matches have featured fewer than three goals.
- Wolfsburg have lost four of their last five league games.
Wolves are not out of the woods
Wolfsburg claimed what could prove a valuable 2-0 win at Werder Bremen in their last Bundesliga away game, but a five-point gap above the relegation playoff space is perhaps a bit close for comfort and they could be nervy at Leipzig.
The visitors have lost four of their last five league games and this looks a tough assignment with their hosts having kept four home clean sheets since they were beaten by a late goal in a 3-2 loss to leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
Confidence in Wolfsburg is limited as the Bremen success was only their second win in 13 league away games and their only other victory came at bottom-of-the-table Darmstadt, but they have been tighter at the back in their recent road matches and a goalfest looks unlikely.
Don’t expect Leipzig to run riot
Six of the Wolves’ last seven league away games have featured fewer than three goals and as they had conceded 17 times in their previous six on their travels, that has to be a source of encouragement.
And while Leipzig scored a total of nine gaols in their recent away wins at Cologne and Freiburg, they were held to a goalless draw against Mainz in their last home game, a team desperately fighting against relegation.
Their defensive quality suggests the home side should come out on top, but there may be few goals, so a 2-0 correct-score bet is preferred.
