Real Madrid to Win

Reason for tip

Bilbao need a result if they are to secure a place in Europe but they head to Madrid in woeful form with five defeats in their last seven games. Real have six wins in their last seven at home and can finish the season with three points in front of their own fans.

Real Madrid 2-1

Reason for tip

Real haven’t been at their free scoring best of late and haven’t scored more than twice in any of their last eight games. Bilbao have only failed to get on the scoresheet in one of their last six trips, so back Real to record a third successive 2-1 win.

Karim Benzema To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

There speculation over Karim Benzema’s future recently but it seems as if he is going to stick with Real for another season at least. The Frenchman missed the win over Sevilla last time out but is expected to feature in the season finale and if he is involved he can get on the scoresheet after hitting 18 goals in just 23 games in La Liga this term.

Real Madrid vs Athletic Bilbao Predictions

  • Real are unbeaten in seven at home, winning six.
  • Bilbao have just one win in their last seven (D1, L5).
  • Real won the reverse fixture 2-0.

Real can secure second spot

Real Madrid entertain Athletic Bilbao in the final round of La Liga games and can ensure they finish in second place with all three points.

Bilbao need a result if they are to secure a place in the Europa Conference League but they head to the Bernabeu in poor form and they haven’t managed a La Liga win over Real since 2015, although they have won a few cup fixtures since that success.

Los Blancos are bidding to finish the season with a third straight win and they have been in fine form in Madrid of late, with six wins and one draw in their last seven games at this venue.

Bilbao have lost five of their last seven games, so a home win is a clear choice for our main bet.

Clean sheets have been an issue for the hosts as they have gone four games without a shut-out. Bilbao have only failed to score in one of their last six trips, so a 2-1 win for the hosts appeals in the correct score market as Real’s last two wins have come via that scoreline and they haven’t scored more than twice in any of their last eight games.

There has been a lot of speculation over Karim Benzema’s future over the last week or so but it seems as if he is going to stick with Real for another season at least. The Frenchman missed the win over Sevilla last time out but is expected to feature in the season finale and if he is involved he can get on the scoresheet after hitting 18 goals in just 23 games in La Liga this term.
