Rennes are on the hunt

After losing to Europe chasing rivals Strasbourg, Rennes hit back with a bang as they notched five goals at home to Lorient without reply last time out. It was a result they desperately needed as no side between third and eighth place can afford to drop points as we approach the end of the season. A win for the hosts here is vital considering their final three matches all come against top-half opposition and they’ll see this one as a match that can boost not only their goal difference but their confidence as well.

The visitors are coming into this one off the back of a 4-1 humbling at the hands of Monaco. It leaves them just four points clear of the automatic relegation spots. That result against Monaco was the third time across their last five matches in which they’ve conceded at least four goals and remarkably, they’ve shipped an average of three goals per match in the final half an hour of their last three losses.

One-way traffic expected

These are two sides with polar opposite aspirations coming into this one, but we just don’t give the visitors much chance here and Rennes should have far too much quality. We do fancy goals here and so we’ll back the hosts to score with at least three goals being witnessed in total.
