Toulouse out to secure Ligue 2 title

Having already secured promotion after dominating Ligue 2, Toulouse can wrap up the French second-tier title with a win at struggling Rodez, and will enter the contest in high spirits after winning six of their last seven games.

Toulouse have gone unbeaten in those seven outings, and have kept two clean sheets in their last three as they inch closer to the title. Toulouse have combined the best attacking record in the division (their tally of 80 goals is 24 more than Ligue 2’s next-best record) with the second-best defence after conceding just 30 goals in 35 games, and are great value for what looks to be an inevitable title win.

Monday’s trip to struggling Rodez, then, should be a routine affair for Toulouse, even if the hosts are fighting for their lives, sitting outside the bottom three only by way of goal difference. Rodez are on an astonishing 18-game winless run (which began against Toulouse in December) and have failed to even score in three of their last six outings.
