SJK vs VPS Vaasa Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

The league title may be beyond their reach as HJK Helsinki look extremely unlikely to be caught, but VPS Vaasa are still in hot pursuit of the runners up spot. Standing in their way is an SJK side who have traditionally got the better of their visitors and with the hosts at the wrong end of the table, there remains plenty of work for them to do if their survival is to be guaranteed.

It is now three defeats in a row for SJK as their bid for survival took a dent in recent weeks. It is not as if they have a big gap between themselves and the danger zone either as just three points separate them from the relegation play-off place. Perhaps even more worryingly, they have also failed to score in each of their last three outings, which is a problem they have had for much of the campaign and they come into this match having scored just 19 times in their 21 matches so far, the second worst offensive record in the Veikausliiga.

Visiting the OmaSP Stadion is a VPS Vaasa side who have a pretty strong campaign so far and currently sit in third place in the table. VPS have been excellent on the road this term and the 18 points from their 10 matches away from home this term is the second best away record in the league. It is not as if things have slowed of late either as they top the form table with 19 points from their previous eight matches.

Given the struggles of the hosts in their previous three matches and the lack of threat they have shown in front of goal, it is hard to imagine they will be much of a threat this Friday. This, combined with the fact that VPS are excellent away from home and are the most in-form side in the league, leads us to believe backing the visitors to earn all three points represents the best opportunity for a return.
