Slutsk vs Belshina Bobruisk Predictions
- FC Slutsk have the best attacking record in the Belarus Premier League, but are yet to keep a clean sheet.
- Belshina have conceded in all five of their league games this season.
- Both sides have conceded exactly one goal in four of their five league matches this term.
Slutsk’s success built on their away form
FC Slutsk’s away form continued to impress last weekend as they clinched a 2-1 win at Shakhter Soligorsk despite playing with 10 men for well over half an hour.
This made it three wins from their opening five Belarus Premier League matches, pushing them up to 2nd in the table and providing some much-welcomed optimism to a club that avoided relegation by only five points last term.
It’s interesting to note that two of Slutsk’s three league wins this term have come away from home, though. Their fortunes at the City Stadium have been less promising, with just one win from their three outings there and their only defeat of the campaign coming against Dinamo Brest.
Difficult start for newly promoted Belshina
As expected, Belshina Bobruisk are enduring a challenging start to their first season back in the top flight. The second tier winners in 2019, Belshina are yet to claim three points in the Belarus Premier League.
They lost their opening three outings against Minsk, Torpedo Zhodino and Gorodeya without scoring a single goal, but they have shown signs of improvement over the last couple of weeks with draws against Neman Grodno and Smolevichi.
Belshina have managed to find the net in both of these fixtures, suggesting that they’re adapting to life in the top flight. A victory on Sunday might be a stretch too far for the relegation favourites, but they can at least expect some success going forward.
Clean sheets hard to come by for both teams
FC Slutsk’s success this term has been built upon their attacking credentials. Indeed, no team has scored more than their nine goals, but it has come with a cost at the other end of the pitch.
The hosts are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league, and given Belshina’s recent improvement we’re not expecting them to get their first shutout of the season on Sunday. Belshina are also yet to keep a clean sheet, so backing both teams to score here is our choice.
Slutsk’s disappointing record of one win from three at home suggests they might find it difficult to get the three points against an improving Belshina here. With both teams conceding exactly one goal in four of their five league matches this term, backing a 1-1 correct score prediction seems sensible.
